Why prefer an Arborist over a Tree Lopper?
An Arborist will always inform his/her client of the perils that tree lopping brings. A lopper does not educate the home owner as to why their tree is needing constant trimming. You see, cutting trees in the wrong way leads to 'epicormic growth'. Epicormic growth is a plant response to damage or stress. It is the growth of new shoots from epicormic buds that lie dormant beneath the bark. Tree lopping is a misleading practice which is contrary to Australian Standards. In the past "tree lopping" was a common practice to reduce the overall height of the tree. Lopping in this way produces epicormic growth with weak points of attachment. This results in very high risk of limb failure. GTS-Geoff'sTree service have qualified arborists who help giving out a detailed explanation about the dangers of this type of pruning. However, if the tree has already been lopped, GTS-arborist have no choice but to repeat the practice unless the home owner wishes to remove the tree. GTS continues to maintain lopped trees to ensure the safety of the public and prevent damage.
