Tree lopping is a misleading practice which is contrary to Australian Standards. In the past "tree lopping" was a common practice to reduce the overall height of the tree. Lopping in this way produces epicormic growth with weak points of attachment. This results in very high risk of limb failure. Our service includes giving out a detailed explanation about the dangers of this type of pruning. However, if the tree has already been lopped, we have no choice but to repeat the practice.
